The Hotel

Protea Hotel Safari Lodge was opened in 1998 and, since then, has made a name for itself for offering quality accommodation, food and a relaxing atmosphere.

Located within its own private game reserve of approximately 2 500 acres, Protea Hotel Safari Lodge is set within beautiful gardens, with separate open sided buildings for the Restaurant and Bar, and a lovely swimming pool with a tree shaded terrace.

 Situated near the main lodge buildings but with privacy in mind, we have an air-conditioned, world-class business centre for 80 delegates, with full audiovisual and communication facilities available as well as free wireless internet access.

Location

Directions from Lusaka International Airport to Protea Hotel Safari Lodge:

1. As you leave the airport, drive straight until you reach a roundabout
2. Take the right exit onto the Great East Road.
3. Stay on Great East Road until you reach the Kabwe roundabout
4. Then take the right exit onto the Great North Road and travel for 35 kms until you see our bill board on the right.
5. Turn right onto the dirt road and from there follow the signs, we are 7 kms from the main road.

Each of our 60 rooms and chalets have a private verandah, telephone, satellite TV, free wireless internet access and a view of the lake or the bush.

4 Suites/Family Chalets
Consist of 1 king size bed extra length and 2 bunk beds in a separate room.
No door between rooms.
Writing desk, two Morris chairs, coffee table, bathtub and separate shower.
Chalet suitable for 2 adults and 2 children under 12 years.

4 Double Bedded Chalets
Consist of one king size bed extra length, writing desk, 2 Morris chairs, coffee table, bathtub and separate shower.
Chalet can accommodate 2 people.

12 Twin Bedded Chalets
Consist of two single beds extra length, writing desk, 2 Morris chairs, coffee table, bathtub and separate shower.
Chalet can accommodate 2 people.

10 Double Bedded Rooms
Consist of king size bed extra length, writing desk, 1 armchair, bathtub and separate shower.
Room can accommodate 2 people.

10 Twin Bedded Rooms
Consist of 2 single beds extra length, writing desk, 1 armchair, bathtub and separate shower.
Room can accommodate 2 people.

10 King Bedded Deluxe Rooms
Consist of king size bed extra length, writing desk, 1 sofa and en suite bathroom.
Room can accommodate 2 people.

10 Queen Bedded Deluxe Rooms
Consist of 2 queen beds extra length, writing desk, 1 armchair and en suite bathroom.
Room can accommodate a maximum of 2 adults.

These rooms can inter-lead with the king bedded deluxe rooms mentioned above to create an inter-leading room consisting of a double room with its own bathroom and a twin bedded room also with its own bathroom.
