PROTEA HOTEL ASOKORO’S RUDI JANSE VAN RENSBURG IS GM OF THE YEAR |

Rudi began as orientation trainee at the Protea Hotel Transit. He progressed through his training programme at the Protea Hotel Parktonian, the Protea Hotel Balmoral and at Aventura Resort Badplaas, where Rudi was appointed as Front Office Manager. It was not long before he was promoted to Rooms Division Manager and soon after to Deputy General Manager. In May 2003 Rudi decided to try his hand at Nigeria where he was appointed as Deputy GM at the Protea Hotel Obudu Ranch Resort. Rudi then served in various capacities at many of our Nigerian properties including opening the Protea Hotel Apo Apartments as General Manager in 2004, being General Manager at the Protea Hotel Victoria Island, and General Manager at the Protea Hotel Nike Lake Resort. Rudi opened Protea Hotel Asokoro in May 2007. “The difference between Rudi and most other individuals is that Rudi has mastered the art of being perpetually positive, even under the most immense challenges with which he has to contend in the Nigerian environment,” said Arthur Gillis, CEO, Protea Hotel Group, “Under Rudi’s able stewardship, he has maintained the high international standards for which Protea Hotels is known.
